My name's Will, and I love to design. I also love to travel, snowboard, eat interesting foods, and the be in the ocean... but thats not what this site is about...
This site is now my somewhat dated portfolio and is soon to become an experiment in Flash & Actionscript. My current portfolio is located at
william-byrd.com
Please feel free to browse this portfolio as well. Some of the content is the same between my 2 sites, but there is much more to be found at william-byrd.com. This site contains only a sampling of the work I've created in the past 2-3 years and spans work from Platt College, Freelance jobs, and projects from my current employer. Please have a look around, and dont hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments.
Thanks for stopping by!
I have really begun to enjoy the pursuit of capturing a unique image, and also trying to capture a feeling along with that image. The more I learn about design & composition, the more fun photography becomes. I am fascinated by nature as well as the structures man creates on this earth, hence, my subjects of choice.
Since I dont claim to be a professional photographer, and Photoshop was used to enhance the overall quality of these images, I have named this section "Imagery".
I hope you will find these images as visually enjoyable as I have.
My name is William Byrd and I am an artist working in the field of digital media. I do everything from graphic design to web design/XHTML/CSS, Flash animation & Actionscript, motion graphics, video, and special effects, as well as dabble in some 3D modleing and animation.
Art and design have been a major part of my life as far back as I could remember, but up until a few years ago, computers were mysterious foreign objects to me and I pretty much stayed away from them completely. I almost gave up on art because with no knowlege of computers, I didnt see a bright future as a traditional starving artist. Luckily, while I was finishing my AA Degree at Palomar College, I decided to take an Intro Photoshop class, just to see if it was something I could get into. After seeing first hand what was possible through computers, I knew from that point on that procuring a career in digital media was what I would be doing. I then set my sights on a degree in Media Arts at Platt College. And with help from some good friends, school, and co-workers, I have learned more about computers in a few years than most will learn in a lifetime. My hunger for knowledge in this digital age grows exponentially every day, along with the urge to work on projects and practice my skills on many different levels.
For the last 7 years, I have been working for H2Odyssey, a diving/surfing distributor located in Vista, CA. My time during the last 4 years there, have been spent doing mainly graphic/web design. I was allowed to take on the task of re-branding the company to project a more modern image and stand out in a competitive market. My tasks have included designing and building a new website with updated features, creating Product Catalogs for 2007, 08, & 09, shooting and editing all product images for print and web, updating product manuals, as well as designing all sale flyers, advertisments, trade show materials, and stickers.
